Perugino contributed to this 1473 panel depicting a miracle of Saint Bernardino of Siena. The saint, canonized just 23 years earlier in 1450, was credited with various miraculous healings. This scene shows the resurrection of a stillborn child through Bernardino's intercession.
Franciscan friars in Perugia commissioned eight miracle panels to hang above a niche holding the saint's statue. At least five different hands contributed, including Perugino and Pinturicchio. The Umbrian School style appears in soft forms and harmonious colors. Now at the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia.
