The Spring Temple Buddha in Lushan County, Henan Province, China, is one of the tallest statues in the world at 128 meters (420 feet), or 153 meters (502 feet) including its pedestal and throne. The copper-cast figure depicts Vairocana Buddha standing with one hand raised. Construction began in 1997 and finished in 2008.
The statue required 1,100 copper cast pieces and over 108 kg of gold for the surface. It stands on a 25-meter lotus throne atop a 20-meter building. The project was partly a response to the Taliban's destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan in 2001, which accelerated fundraising and construction.
Luxury wall art with the same mood and energy. Gallery-quality canvas, no museum crowds.
