The Cham (Champa) civilization flourished along the coast of present-day central and southern Vietnam from roughly the 2nd to 17th centuries. Cham sculpture, primarily in sandstone and bronze, shows strong Hindu and Buddhist influence, with elegant temple figures of Shiva, Vishnu, and other deities.
The Museum of Cham Sculpture in Da Nang holds the world's largest collection of Cham art, preserving figures from the civilization's major temple complexes at My Son, Dong Duong, and Tra Kieu.
