Jean-Pierre Dantan (1800-1869), known as "Dantan Jeune," was a French sculptor famous for his satirical caricature statuettes of celebrities, politicians, and artists. His witty, exaggerated portrait busts lampooned everyone from Paganini to Victor Hugo and were enormously popular in 1830s-40s Paris.
