The Vincennes porcelain manufactory (active 1740-1756) was the predecessor of the famous Sèvres factory. It produced soft-paste porcelain figures, vases, and tableware that established the French porcelain tradition. The factory relocated to Sèvres in 1756 under royal patronage and became one of Europe's most prestigious ceramics producers.
