Nicoya art comes from the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica and northwestern Costa Rica. This pre-Columbian culture produced jade pendants, polychrome ceramics, and stone sculptures. Nicoya jade carvings, often depicting avian and feline figures, are among the most refined lapidary works of ancient Central America.
