The Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto was founded in 1900 and is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection of over 120,000 works. A 2008 transformation by Frank Gehry, who grew up across the street, wrapped the building in a curving glass and titanium facade.
The gallery holds the world's largest public collection of Henry Moore sculpture, donated by the artist in 1974. Canadian art, including the Group of Seven landscape painters and Indigenous works, forms the collection's backbone. European old masters, Impressionist paintings, contemporary art, and an extensive photography collection round out the holdings.
