The Casino dell'Aurora (Casino Rospigliosi) in Rome is a garden pavilion built around 1612 for Cardinal Scipione Borghese. Its fame rests on Guido Reni's ceiling fresco Aurora (1614), depicting the goddess of dawn leading Apollo's chariot across the sky, surrounded by the Hours.
The fresco's classical composition and luminous color made it one of the most admired paintings in Rome for centuries. The casino is now part of the Palazzo Pallavicini-Rospigliosi and opens to the public only on the first day of each month, making it one of the city's most exclusive viewing experiences.
