Palazzo Chiericati in Vicenza was designed by Andrea Palladio in 1550, one of his finest civic designs. The building became the home of the Museo Civico in 1855, housing Vicenza's civic art collection in one of the most important Renaissance buildings in the Veneto.
The painting collection covers Venetian and Vicentine art from the 14th through 18th centuries: Giovanni Bellini, Bartolomeo Montagna, and Tiepolo feature among the holdings. Palladio's loggia and courtyard alone make the visit worthwhile. The building is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing of Palladio's works in Vicenza.
