Skokloster Castle on the shore of Lake Mälaren in Sweden was built between 1654 and 1676 by Field Marshal Carl Gustaf Wrangel using spoils from the Thirty Years' War. The castle was never fully completed, and one wing remains in its raw, unfinished state.
The collections include arms and armor, books, textiles, and paintings assembled by Wrangel and his descendants. The Baroque interiors remain largely intact, preserving one of Europe's finest examples of a 17th-century aristocratic collection. Over 50,000 objects are held in the castle, making it one of Sweden's most important cultural heritage sites.
