by Otto Mueller
Otto Mueller painted these figures in harmony with nature, a signature theme. Three nude women rest in a forest setting, their angular bodies rendered in his characteristic flat, matte technique. Mueller used distemper (glue-based paint) to create deliberately unpolished surfaces emphasizing primal connection to nature.
Mueller was a member of Die Brücke, the German Expressionist group. His subjects of nudes in landscapes reflect their ideal of natural living free from modern constraints. Now at the Sprengel Museum in Hanover, Germany.
Luxury wall art with the same mood and energy. Gallery-quality canvas, no museum crowds.
