Pierre-Auguste Renoir completed this portrait of Colonel Barton Howard Jenks. Though best known for his Impressionist scenes, Renoir also produced formal portraits throughout his career.
His portrait work shows his skill at capturing personality through warm colors and fluid brushwork. This painting is held in a private collection.
