Ancient Greek Riace Warrior B stands slightly shorter than his companion, with a rounder head and less intense expression suggesting an older, calmer warrior or perhaps a different hero. Created around 450 BCE like Warrior A, this bronze displays similar technical mastery but distinct physiological details. The two statues may represent a matched pair of heroes or gods.
Warrior B originally wore a Corinthian helmet pushed back on his head, now lost. The figure's teeth are silver, visible through slightly parted lips, and the eyes were inlaid with ivory, glass, and stone. Scientific analysis shows both statues were cast using the lost-wax method, with clay cores still intact inside.
The warrior is displayed alongside Warrior A at the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia.
