Charles Cary Rumsey (1879-1922) was an American sculptor, polo player, and socialite who created dynamic equestrian and animal bronzes. Born in Buffalo, New York to a wealthy family, he studied in Paris under Paul Bartlett. He was married to Mary Harriman, daughter of railroad magnate E.H. Harriman.
Rumsey's equestrian bronzes and polo subjects reflect his own athletic interests. He died young in a car accident. His Three Graces fountain stands in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
