Lambert Sigisbert Adam (1700-1759) was a French sculptor who created monumental works for the French crown and aristocratic patrons. Son of sculptor Jacob Sigisbert Adam, he won the Prix de Rome in 1723 and spent years in Italy before returning to Paris.
His best-known work is the Neptune and Amphitrite group at the Neptune Basin in Versailles. Adam's dramatic, emotionally charged style reflects the Italian Baroque influence he absorbed in Rome.
