Solon Hannibal Borglum (1868-1922) was an American sculptor who specialized in Western subjects: cowboys, horses, and frontier life. He was the brother of Gutzon Borglum (who carved Mount Rushmore). Born in Ogden, Utah, he studied in Paris and became known for dynamic bronzes that captured the movement and spirit of the American West.
His best-known works include equestrian figures and stampeding horse groups that rivaled Frederic Remington's Western bronzes. He also created war memorials and public monuments.
