Farmers By Thatched House – Two Farmers Before a Thatched Cottage
A bear and a white cat stand side by side in traditional Japanese work clothes, painted in warm oils against a backdrop of green rice terraces and forested hills. The bear wears deep indigo and holds a hoe, a woven straw hat resting at his feet. Beside him the cat, in a crisp white apron, looks out with quiet composure. The mood is gentle and grounded, part folk portrait, part whimsical fable, rendered with soft light and earthy detail.
This piece sits comfortably in our Animals collection, and its rural setting connects it to both Landscapes and the warm palette of our Earth Tone Art.
