by Paul Signac
Paul Signac painted the view of Comblat Castle and its surrounding meadow. As a leading Pointillist, Signac applied paint in small distinct dots of color that blend optically when viewed from a distance.
Signac developed this technique alongside Georges Seurat and became its chief advocate after Seurat's death. The painting shows his vibrant palette and scientific approach to color. It's displayed at the Dallas Museum of Art.
