by Paul Signac
Paul Signac captures the Seine River at Herblay using his distinctive Neo-Impressionist technique. The painting shows the riverbank with trees and reflections rendered in separate dots and dashes of pure color, creating a vibrant, luminous surface.
Signac was a leading practitioner of Pointillism after Georges Seurat's death, applying color theory to landscape painting. The work is held at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
