
Agostino Cornacchini (1686-1754) was an Italian sculptor who created the equestrian statue of Charlemagne in the portico of St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. Born in Pescia, Tuscany, he worked in Rome and received commissions for churches and palaces. His Charlemagne stands opposite Bernini's Constantine.
