
Antonello Gaggini (1478-1536) was a Sicilian sculptor who became the most important artist of Renaissance Sicily. Son of the Genoese sculptor Domenico Gaggini, he ran a large workshop in Palermo creating marble altarpieces, Madonnas, and architectural decorations for churches across the island.
