
Johann Georg Schwanthaler (1740-1810) was an Austrian sculptor from the Schwanthaler dynasty of carvers based in Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria. He created Baroque and early Neoclassical church sculptures. The family produced several generations of significant sculptors.
