About Pierre Roche
Roche created Art Nouveau and Symbolist sculptures and developed gypsography, a plaster printing technique. His work blends naturalistic forms with the decorative spirit of turn-of-the-century Paris.
His sculpture of Loïe Fuller (1895) is held by the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Loïe Fuller was an American dancer celebrated in Art Nouveau Paris. Roche captured her swirling stage movement in this 1895 sculpture.
Roche worked from the 1880s until his death in 1922, active in the Symbolist and Art Nouveau circles of Paris.
