David Roentgen sculpted European sculpture, dating to ca. 1775–79 with later alterations. Made from oak, pine, walnut, mahogany, and cherry veneered with hornbeam (partially stained), tulipwood, walnut, holly and maple (both partially stained), boxwood, mahogany, and other woods; red brocatelle marble; gilt bronze; iron, steel, and brass, it measures 35 1/4 x 53 1/2 x 27 1/4 in. (89.5 x 135.9 x 69.2cm).
It's part of the highlighted collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts department. The Met acquired this piece as part of its public domain collection, and high-resolution images are freely available.
