Austrian artist Gustav Klimt painted this Emilie Flöge at age 17, capturing the young woman who would become his lifelong companion. The early portrait shows her before Klimt developed his famous decorative style. Their relationship lasted decades.
Emilie was a fashion designer and Klimt's closest confidante. This intimate portrait remains in a private collection.
