Kristen Visbal (born 1962) is an American sculptor who created the Fearless Girl (2017), a bronze statue of a defiant young girl originally placed facing the Charging Bull on Wall Street. Born in Uruguay and raised in the U.S., she studied at the University of Delaware and the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts.
Fearless Girl was commissioned by State Street Global Advisors to promote gender diversity on corporate boards. The statue was moved to its permanent location facing the New York Stock Exchange in 2018. It became a viral symbol of female empowerment and one of New York's most photographed public artworks.
