Massimiliano Soldani (1656-1740) was a Florentine sculptor and medalist who served as director of the Medici mint. He produced refined bronze reductions of famous ancient and Renaissance sculptures for aristocratic collectors across Europe, along with portrait medals of exceptional quality.
His bronzes of the Venus de' Medici, the Wrestlers, and other classical works were prized by English Grand Tour collectors. Soldani's technical skill in casting and finishing made his bronzes among the most sought-after in 18th-century Europe.
