Sorolla Museum

The Sorolla Museum occupies the Madrid house and studio of painter Joaquín Sorolla, designed by architect Enrique María Repullés and converted into a museum after the death of Sorolla's widow. It was declared a national cultural heritage site in 1962 and is now part of Spain's state museum network.

The main rooms remain furnished as they were during Sorolla's life, including his large, naturally lit studio, still hung with his canvases. The collection focuses on his luminous beach scenes and portraits, among them Children on the Beach (1910) and Walk on the Beach (1909), both painted on the Valencia coast.

The museum is a rare example of an artist's home and workspace preserved largely intact, offering a direct view into how Sorolla lived and worked.
