Ford Madox Brown executed this Emma Hill, his second wife and frequent model. The tender portrait shows the woman who supported him through difficult years. Brown was associated with the Pre-Raphaelites though never formally a member.
Emma modeled for many of his major works. This portrait hangs at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
