by Paul Signac
Paul Signac painted the industrial gasometers at Clichy, on the outskirts of Paris. The Pointillist applied paint in small dots that create vibrant color effects. He found beauty in modern industrial subjects.
Signac carried on Seurat's Neo-Impressionist method after his friend's early death. This painting is at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
