The Musée Toulouse-Lautrec occupies the Palais de la Berbie, a 13th-century bishop's fortress that dominates the skyline of Toulouse-Lautrec's birthplace, Albi. The imposing brick structure, now part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was converted to house the artist's work after his family donated over 1,000 pieces following his death in 1901.
