Grand Canal: Looking from Palazzo Balbi

Canaletto painted the Grand Canal from Palazzo Balbi. The panoramic view shows palaces lining both sides of the canal, with boats and gondolas on the water.

Canaletto's views were prized by English collectors. This painting is at the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden.
