Visiting Seattle Art Museum
SAM offers free admission on the First Thursday of every month. First Fridays offer $5 admission for seniors. EBT/SNAP cardholders receive reduced admission through the Museums for All program.
SAM operates three locations: the main downtown museum on First Avenue, the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park, and the free Olympic Sculpture Park on the waterfront. One membership covers all three.
The Hammering Man is a 48-foot tall kinetic sculpture by Jonathan Borofsky located at SAM's entrance. The motorized arm moves in a hammering motion continuously, representing the working people of the world.
