by Gustav Klimt
Gustav Klimt made this early allegorical work exploring themes of storytelling and imagination. The composition shows Klimt developing the decorative sensibility that would later define his golden period.
Before his famous gilded portraits, Klimt worked in a more naturalistic style while still incorporating symbolic elements. This painting is at the Vienna Museum.
