Spanish artist Juan de Juanes painted this El Buen Pastor (The Good Shepherd), showing Christ as shepherd of souls. The gentle image depicts Christ carrying a lamb, symbolizing his care for humanity. Juanes created many such devotional works for Spanish churches.
His style blends Italian Renaissance influence with Spanish devotional intensity. This painting hangs at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
