Spanish artist Juan de Juanes painted this devotional image of Christ as Ecce Homo. The suffering Savior wears the crown of thorns, presented for contemplation. Juanes was the leading Spanish Renaissance painter in Valencia.
His religious works were highly influential in Spanish devotional art. This painting hangs at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
